Family Therapy
Family counseling provides systematic interactions between the identified individual consumer, staff and the individuals family members directed toward the restoration, development, enhancement or maintenance of the functioning of the identified consumer/family unit.
Family Counseling: Family counseling, sometimes couple’s therapy, works with a client and significant others to nurture change and development with the client as the primary beneficiary of the counseling and based on the psychiatric condition/symptoms. Family counseling tends to view change in terms of the systems of interaction (i.e., communication patterns, verbal and non-verbal, emphasizing patterns of relating that are beneficial for recovery) between people to identify factors that contribute to issues for the benefit of the client. It emphasizes family relationships as an important factor in psychological health.
